I never really thought about it much before till I got here. People in the US do the same,… just not to the same extent. I was riding the train the other day and was listening to my music. I took a look around the train and say maybe half the people doing the same while the other half were either asleep or completely enthralled with their phones. That’s when I put away my headphones…

People are so lost in the world they have created that they are missing everything that is happening around them. Even I am guilty of it most of the time. I am starting to unplug myself and listen to everyday occurrences that go on. I know Tim C. would probably disagree, but something as simple as the birds chirping can be relaxing. I enjoy it, much more than my music anyway. I wonder if I am missing something.

Hold on, I am going to hop into my Toyota Corolla “Super Windy Edition” and blow right into a Daihatsu Move making it a Daihatsu Naked. Now where did my Toyota Homey go….. Oh Japan, a laugh around every corner.

And there I was, on a narrow strip of pavement. To my right speeding cars hogging the road. To my left the murky awesomeness of the rice paddy that I would soon be swimming in….. No, I didn’t actually swim in it…. no I didn’t do that either. So drivers here are the suck. They feel this burning passion to own the road. That’s not mentioning the fact that for some reason when parking their cars need the space of a tractor trailer to get in and out. Forget backing up. What’s parallel parking again? Oh that’s right, swing a wide left here and knock that kid into some poor defenseless old women on a bicycle. Speed bump action, AWAY!
